CAT Tools

What are CAT tools?

CAT stands for "computer aided translation." CAT tools are tools that allow a translator to create custom dictionaries with client-specific terminology, save translations in a client-specific translation memory for editing or reuse later on, and auto-propagate existing translations to new documents. This ensures consistency and accuracy across multiple translations for the same client. Your slogans, product designations, product claims, and terms are applied every time, for the length of our working relationship.

CAT tools I use:

I primarily work with SDL Trados, which is considered the industry standard software. However, I also have experience working with MemoQ, XML, and several other client-specific translation interfaces.

Human Translation

As a native English speaker born in the US, I only offer German to English translations. Professional translators always translate into their own native languages, ensuring you get a truly fluent translation.

Working with a human translator delivers benefits for corporations and individuals alike. You receive a fully personalized translation, tailored to your goals and your voice. I can ensure your brand image remains consistent across all of your webpages or documents, and respond if you need changes. I see human translation as co-creation in a new language, and I'm passionate about finding the right voice for my customers.

With a good translator, you can also reduce copywriting and editing expenses. I deliver my clients well-written, edited documents ready to publish at fair rates. Free up your own staff to focus on their core job duties, and work with me to ensure your content reaches your audiences in English-speaking countries.
